New Animax Asia = Lost it’s Japanese vibe up to 98%

So this morning just after I get up, I of course turning on my PC and checking e-mails, and my newsletter from Animax, one of a TV Subscribing channel that focuses on Anime if you not yet know.

The headline called [ADV] Animax Rave May ’10: Welcome to the all new Animax!. The headline interest me to open the newsletter since I never watch TV lately, but yeah… not hurt to check e-mail right?

It turns out that the whole new changes start from this:

uhh…. get it? Start from the logo, they got makeover! well done… but more look like Technofied logo, doesn’t suit the meaning of Animax itself from the first time.

but forget about the logo! What I mean “Lost it’s Japanese Vibe up to 98%” ? Ok seriously now… Animax Asia has really lost it. Why?

This year 2010 Animax Asia try to fix it’s mistake to just put old anime in premier line by adding Japanese simulated time show. So it’s more like Animax try to put the latest anime, a good start. But with that, they trying to sacrifice the other show and even worse they filling 25% of Animax with non-Japanese stuff, seriously now.

Back then when Animax Asia first airing, the channel takes many part of Japanese Animax. I really love it. It just like I’m watching Japanese Channel. But what now? It turns out to be sucks like local channels. Hell! Local channels is better.

I’m not hate Animax, and the whole show. Don’t get me worng. I love watching Anime and Japanese shows. But what Animax done filling the whole channel with their own plan on “Teen Vibe” rather than “Japanese Vibe” is getting old.

Go back Animax Asia, seriously your transformation sucks!

Alan Wake PC : Need Publisher!!!

Ok… it’s not a news, yet a presumption of what I take from Remedy replies as they want to create PC version of Alan Wake, but can’t because Microsoft not allowing them.

Simple and stupid reason from Microsoft said that Alan Wake meant to be played on Big TV Screen while you sit down on couch and relaxing with Xbox 360 Controller on your hand.

That was so stupid, or maybe idiot. Yes, why you ask? Think about it, any game would fit on PC, whatever it was meant to be played on TV or whatsoever. Besides Remedy first plan is to implant Alan Wake on DX10 which makes the game freaking awesome. 360 never so awesome like DX10 IMO.

Maybe Microsoft thinking that Xbox 360 sales dropped hard, that they think they should make a competitor against it’s rival which is PS3 itself that releasing Heavy Rain which is exclusive to PS3 since of course Sony don’t do PC.

Which makes me think that Alan Wake PC needs publisher, like Mass Effect do with EA

Any publisher will do, in fact some Xbox 360 games were ported to PC  like Mass Effect and Ninja Blade, will consider the Developer to choose the better publisher to publish the game on multi console. Microsoft Games never done a good job ever, even on PC.

James Cameron’s Avatar

“Outstanding!” Yep, that’s what I say about this movie, an epic styled movie created by the legendary James Cameron from Titanic, comes a new dazzling  epic adventure Avatar.

What’s This Movie about?
Do you know what Avatar meaning is? Avatar is more like personality, so not to mistaken the animated story from Nick with the same title Avatar. Ok let’s get started.

Avatar is the epic story about a satelite in orbit of Polyphemus, one of three gas giants that orbit Alpha Centauri A. The year is 2154, and earth has started a connection of organism of other planet, the story start from Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) whose his brother died from a robbery, and offered on the Avatar program, Sully was paralyzed from the waist down from combat (Jake Sully is Marine) he was offered if he’s coming on the program, his paralyzed will be healed.
After reaching planet Pandora, he was asked to controlling the Avatar, a body of the living human at planet Pandora called Na’vi. Jake mission is to research and adapt the living on planet Pandora, and negotiate them to move so Earth can extract the valuable mineral that worth a kilo about 20 Million US$.
Sully was willing to do the project, and to the sync with the Avatar. On the Avatar body Sully can walk, and do the things like Na’vi can. On the middle of research, Sully was separated from his team, and met the primitive on Pandora, a girl named Neytiri. Neytiri realized that Sully was a chosen one from the god of the planet. Neytiri introduce Sully to the whole tribe. First the tribe not trust Sully as he come to their tribe. Thus makes Sully to learn to living there before he can be accepted to the Tribe.

Sully is learning the live on Pandora with Neytiri that was asked by his own father and the leader of the Tribe to assist Sully to learn to live at Pandora. Sully introduced by many things that was dangerous but exciting. He learn the language of the Tribe too, and many thing, as finally he become a man at the Tribe.

As Sully times up at the Pandora, he was forced to Negotiate the moving, instead of Negotiating, he fall in love with Pandora, and don’t want to Negotiate the moving. Knowing that the team of researching makes Sully as Traitor and destroy the Tree where the Tribe living. Sully has been exiled from the Tribe. But as he want trust from the Tribe, he tried what the Tribe predecessor do to catch the Toruk Macto, the flying living beast on Pandora that’s so powerful and feared by all the living things on Pandora.

Sully has gained trust and start a revolution, he asked to all the Tribe on Pandora to come and fight the Team that forcing them to move out. A big epic battle begin as they started to kill each other, until many of their brother fighting the army till died, and lastly standing on the last battle. That nearly killed Sully itself. Can Sully really win the battle? What about the Tribe it self? it’s all up to you to watch the Movie.

How’s this Movie look like?
I’m not a fans of War movie, or Tear jerker movie. But if you like an epic stories that makes you just amazed by the story, Watch this movie.

This movie it self come to 2 types 2D and 3D using a really out standing animation, and Post Processing the whole movie just outstanding. You’ll see new living things on Pandora that’s really beautiful and amazing.

The movie it self like a documentary of living at Pandora, as you’ll introduced to Pandora from it’s amazing side and dangerous side. Makes you want to live at the place.
The Movie sound is amazing as real, you’ll never fell as just like you at the Pandora itself. The music is arranged by James Horner, as it’s really… outstanding and really can make you fell the adrenaline on the Pandora.

What do you think about this movie?
Outstanding! Yep! Outstanding! The movie really makes myself on there and live and felled the heat of the war between Human and Na’vi, the story telling too is amazing, and how the camera placement, how the Character creation, the Culture Creation, is really telled from first to the end. Amazing Movie you never wanna miss.

Dirt 2 a sequel of world winning Rally game Dirt now comes to PS3, Xbox 360 few months ago, now comes to PC too with more feature like Rapture 3D, and bringing new features from Dirt 1 too, as New World Tour, more realistic felling, and more. Let’s just Check this out!

What’s This Game About?
If you are fans of Rally game, or just love to watch Rally, well Dirt 2 gives you all your Rally experience into 1 game. The game visualized you going abroad on Dirt Tour, your objective is simple, to win the Dirt Tour. The Simulation felling is realistic, as you were really on your Trailer waiting for a race to start, you can Navigate Outside your Trailer and look at surrounding  as well checking news, your car, and more. The newly EGO engine that used on Race Driver: Grid makes the game more powerful and beautiful, you’ll never seen a racing game on PC more beautiful than this.

The game features new line up of cars, real Rally Opponent, a simulation like Driving Experience, featuring 4 Continent around the world to be explored, including Baja, Croatia, Malaysia, and more (too bad Indonesian not included 😛 ).

What this game look like?
Now this is a really hard question to answer but we know you know it… Dirt 2 Using a newly updated EGO Engine the first one to heavily using DirectX11 and HQ 3D Sound Rapture 3D, makes this game look stunning from Graphic and Sound Side, what’s more the game now have more addictive Career mode, like Buddy Mode which makes you partnering with a real Rally Races around the World like Dave Mirra, Tony Block, and more. What’s more interesting stuff you can have a challenge with them in some event.

The new Rapture 3D sound engine makes the feeling playing Dirt 2 like really standing on there, like you really racing on the track. A real great experience.

The Tour Mode now upgraded to the next generation with more wild style, now you can select from 4 Continent to choose where you want to rally from Shibuya, Croatia, Malaysia, Baja, and more. The race will consisting in 5 general rally style, and 3 special rally style, Including Rally, Rallycross, Trailblazer, Raid, Landrush, Gatecrasher, Domination, and Last Man Standing.

Sadly I haven’t any time to try the Online and Multiplayer mode, so that’s coming later I think 😛

What do you think about this game?
I must admit it as a really cool Rally games I’ve ever seen. How the Graphics doned was amazing, the Sound was terrific, and the Gameplay is Awesome too. You’ll never want to miss the game this great, and Of course you might be want to have time to upgrade your PC to have a better visual on using DirectX 11, It will be a great stuff to see.

Cing Presents: Last Window: Mayonaka no Yakusoku a sequel of Hotel Dusk

Finally Nintendo announced a sequel of the most interesting Visual Novel game on NDS has ever seen Hotel Dusk (or Wish Room) called Last Window: Mayonaka no Yakusoku (Last Window:Midnight Promise)
The story still revolves about Kyle Hyde, 1 year after Wish Room story, now he stuck on Cape West Apartments (seems to be his home) and still going to search a clue about Bradley.

The game mechanism will still the same old style like on Wish Room, and now featuring Ignore mode that useful if you wanna skip some useless question, skip too much and you will fail the game.
Nintendo still not announced this game on NA and EU, well not to worry they will soon.
The game will come to Japan at 14-January-2010 which is my 17th Birthday!

Speaking of which, don’t forget there’s still Again : Eye Providence that will come on US around March 2010 using the same style of Hotel Dusk with more cool Investigating style!

Astro Boy – The Movie

Astro Boy, the long winning award series produced by the Father of Anime and Manga, Osamu Tezuka is finally make it to 3D, created by Imagi Animation Studios, an studio originally from Hong Kong, and  Distributed by SONY Pictures(Kadokawa on Japan), with new story, and new character, an alternative prologue of AstroBoy, did it really resemble any of Tezuka-sensei creation?

What’s This Movie about?
It’s AstroBoy on it’s new story, so it you can say a big spoiler here skip down to continue if you hate spoiler!

!SPOILER AHEAD!
It all started with a floating town called Metro City, the city is filled with robot, and humans, robot have it’s own rule, as well as human, yet they live together in peace.
After the introduction, the story started with Toby, Dr. Tenma’s Son that finishing his Science pop quiz and leave before everyone else, after that he asking Orrin the Tenma’s Family Servant(or butler) to drive him to the Ministry of Science, because on Ministry of Science where Dr. Tenma working is doing a presentation of new element they found, a blue orb of positive energy that can powered up a whole new world safely, as well as a red orb of negative energy that can powered up a whole negative energy to think badly.
After Toby meting his dad that was talking to President Stone is forced to be taken care by the guard to a room where he suppose to stay until the presentation was over, but Toby is smart and he stole one of the guards card to unlock the room and finally go to the presentation, but things go to wrong where President Stone is planning to use his Peacemaker robot to be powered using the Red Orb, making a thing worse, yet Toby is locked where the Peacemaker at, Peacemaker didn’t notice Toby is there, until it destroying the barrier that was created to taken care the whole mess, making Toby’s Dead, lefting his favorite hat.
Dr. Tenma that was depressed finally make his mind to make a robot replica of Toby, using a whole hi tech of defense system, DNA of Toby, and finally a blue orb, powering up a new robot, Toby is reborned.
But yet, Things doesn’t look well, Dr. Tenma Misses the old Toby, everything that Toby doing on his new form reminds Tenma about the old Toby, and finally crazed from himself, calling Dr. Elefun for advices, while Toby is forced to taken to his room, Toby realized that he understand Robot Languages, and then after he accidentally falling from his room, he realized that he can fly, after he having a whole fun, he wants to tell his dad about this, but poor Toby, Dr. Tenma didn’t want Toby anymore, so he runaway from home, President Stone finds out that Toby’s is attached with the Blue Orb he wants so badly for his Peacemaker, and hunting Toby, after the last shot from President Stone, Toby falled to the Ground Earth where all the places is Scrapyard.
He realized he wasn’t alone and greeted by many robot that want to take his battery out, Toby finds out and run away, after that he met a Robot “Trashcan” apparently visualized as a dog, Trashcan seems to be attracting Toby and was dragged to a trap of robot, After the trapped is open he met new people, He met Cory and the other Guys who was from the places where all orphans lived. After talking a little to the kids, Toby was dragged by 3 Robots and greeted to their little group called Robot Liberation Front (RLF) They give Toby new name “Astro” and warned about Hamegg that slaves robots.
After the kids find outs the hiding places that obviously not a hiding places, they take Astro to the places their live. Astro was meted by many kids that living on that place, and met Hamegg the robot enginer from Metro City, but dumped to Ground, he was planned to find all working piece of robot he can found and make it joins the Robot Gladiator show.
Astro was taken to Brazil where he met ZOG the old robot that lives a hundred years there, of course the kids that was meant to take ZOG can’t take it cause it’s too big, and already dead. Astro is capable to relive ZOG and take ZOG to Hamegg places, after Hamegg testing it’s power he said the power can lived up a whole city, after he turned over and accidentally hover the tester to Astro, the tester reacted as it’s wrecked, but after that Hamegg realized that Astro is robot.
Astro and all his new friends cleaning ZOG into a new robot that was really polished clean, and take ZOG to the Robot Gladiator, but somethings wrong happens, Hamegg is paralyzing Astro, and make him join the fight, after a long battle Astro showing peace of him and trying to fight all the robot, finally he need to fight ZOG, but because ZOG is powered with a little power that Astro shared (the blue positive power) ZOG can’t fight and showing peace too. Hamegg is angry and paralyzed Astro again, and again, and again. ZOG is angry and wanna crush Hamegg all the way, but he was hold by Astro to showing peace to human too.
The Robot Gladiator show is filled with people cheered by how can robots showing peace, but Astro is captured by President Stone troops and asking Dr. Tenma and Dr. Elefun to take the blue orb from Astro, being sad by a goodbye to Toby, Dr. Tenma is finally reputing the blue orb and ask Astro to run away, President Stone that was angry is putting himself the red orb to his Peacemaker and make himself absorbed to Peacemaker, making the robot unstoppable and rage by taking the Blue orb.
Things going crazy as Metro City is filled with Rage by Peacemaker, making the whole town destroyed. Astro was realized that the places is devastated and finally return to Metro City to save the City, a big fight with Peacemaker is ended as Astro realized that his friend from Ground is holdup by the Peacemaker, Astro is finally return to destroying the Peacemaker, making Astro is dead.
Everyone sad that Astro is dead because saving the world, but after ZOG reappears it gives it’s little power to Astro, make Astro back Alive and finally have it’s own opportunity to be a hero of world. At the end Astro meting his new Alien rival and ready to fight.

How’s this Movie look like?
I like Astro Boy, and this movie has given new experience to watch Astroboy in 3D, but sadly the whole thing messed up because the story is not as touching as Tezuka-sensei created. Most of Tezuka-sensei creation is putting a real Tear Jerker story to make people that watch can cry if they felled the movie, but yet because the story is not created by Osamu it self, too bad the story is not as good as the real one.

Yet the other things I like is the Spectacular Effects on the movie, that movie is really good and really have a good effects, the whole movie is really specialized in a colorful  stage as Astro Boy is targeted from Kids to Adults

Although I disappointed by they sound setting, the Voice acting is great as real, but not the sound managing, too much cut out, and really horrible.

What do you think about this movie?
Astroboy the story that revolve about a boy with a robot body saving people, the movie is all about a prequel about how’s Astro is created, and it’s new story means alternative prequel for new comers
I Loved Astroboy, and really surprised that they created a new movie of Astroboy in 3D, but sadly the whole movie is stinks, the only good stuff is the Graphics, and the effects, they spend 65 Million Dollar to make a whole movie dream comes true. If you are a real fans of Astroboy, I don’t think you should watch this except you are a hardcore, or maybe if you are a 3D movie lover, you can watch this movie, as the effects and the post processing effect was really fabulous!

Project K: Keroro RPG: Kishi to Musha to Densetsu no Kaizoku Announced

It seems finally Project K has been revealed from NBGI and Namco Tales.
Keroro finally have it’s own RPG and it’s Tales styled! and It’s for Nintendo DS!

There’s many thing you can find on old Tales series on this game, some of them are Skits and  2D Linear Battles similar to all classic Tales game series.

Band Hero (DS)

“FULL BAND EXPERIENCE on your DS!”

Might after you playing Guitar Hero World Tour, and wondering if you can do the same on DS too? Well here you go, finally after long wait, Band Hero is out, maybe a lousy name, but it’s still on Guitar Hero series, but can it rocking the world?

What’s This Game About?
You see, Band Hero is somehow an upgraded version of Guitar Hero, or maybe… Downgraded version? Band Hero can be said as more Family Friendly user with more Colorful version of Guitar Hero, while many people expect Guitar Hero to be more darker, and more rocking, they finally make new series to make younger and familiar user to expect this new Band Hero series to be more colorful.

In other side, Band Hero on DS is different, they thinking to make full band experience to the Portable system, this time the DS system. What they do is absolutely a brilliant idea but, what if the idea was really hard to acceptable to many people? For example, they make Drum Grip to make other people more feeling they playing drum on DS, while this might be a total fail, since making Drum Grip just make this game more unportable, although you still can play the drum mode using Left, Down, B, A. On the other side, you can play Guitar or Bass using Guitar Grip,  but this still a failure, since you still need to put your Guitar Grip, and make this game unportable too. Another failure that happens to this game is you must restart your DS if you want to switch from Guitar or Bass to Drum or Microphone mode, while this thing make your battery drained, this too happens to be really lame, and not so easy to just change the mode.

There’s still something to be praised from DS version of Band Hero, for the second time, another game finally can make a real Karaoke game on DS, the First one was created by Nintendo itself on the game called Daigasso Band Brother DX, and now another successful creation was on Band Hero. Why I call this “a real Karaoke game on DS”? Well maybe you seen many game utilizing DS Mic to be used to sing a song on the game, the one I remembered like Rock Revolution by Konami, or Ultimate Band by Disney Games, but they have been failed to make the Karaoke mode really good, not Band Hero though, they really can make a really same experience you play on Console version, there is a really sensitive pitch like you really singing on Microphone, which is really great.

But still S.O.L.(Still Outta Luck) to DSi user, since they only can play Drum Mode, and Karaoke Mode on DSi, as we all know DSi don’t have GBAPort to plug the Guitar Grip, neither Drum Grip. Makes this game more portable, but in other side lamer.

As I tell you before, Band Hero is more like Family Friendly user game, designed to be more colorful and more user friendly, but what exactly they make it more user friendly?

The very most interesting thing they put here is they remove the story mode, and change it to be Achievement style game, you need to pull out some requirement and reap the reward. Most of it was really easy, others need a real skill to do it. The best part of all is you now can play all the setlist freely, make your own setlist and rock all night if you wanted.
Although as I said before this game is designed to be more Family Friendly style, they put some not so friendly song to the game

The Graphic is now tweaked to be more Cartoonish,  maybe you played older Guitar Hero on DS, see the graphic is somehow dark, and really metal (actually not really). Well this time is more Cartoonish, and more… Cartoonish!

Another stuff you can see is you now can create your own Hero, similar to  Console version of Guitar Hero World Tour, you can start creating your own character, and as I said before you can get new Thread by playing through solo mode, and get Achievements, of course you can buy it too using money from your gig.

Again, Another stuff you can praise is now you can play Band Hero with Wii user using Wi-Fi Connection, this is new and really cool, if maybe you buying Band Hero on Wii, but only buying a Guitar set, now you can play another Bass, or maybe Guitar, or maybe Microphone, or maybe ANOTHER Guitar using DS,  although maybe have another feeling about that, but you can play this game on stereo now on Wii 😛

What do you think about this game?
I’m fans of Rhythm game, especially Guitar Hero game, Band Hero’s not bad, but it can have more improvement, like no need to restart the DS system just to switch the mode from Guitar to Drum, or maybe make the game more portable and more rocking, and of course DSi friendly system yes? 😀

But if you are Guitar Hero fans, and want to playing more Guitar Hero (and never have enough) you should play this, since it share the same style of Guitar Hero.

“I want to play a game”

Finally after long wait, we finally can play Saw: The Video Game, published by KONAMI, and Created by ZOMBIE studios, let see if this long waited game can match the scare we had when we watched the movie.

What’s This Game About?
Ever watch SAW? if you do, then you will familiar with this game story, it started with Detective Tapp kidnapped and armed with trap on his head, next to his a TV comes a picture of a scary doll (Billy) representing the Jigsaw Killer, as he said, he wants to play a game, so we must because we have no choice. Then you must disarm your own Trap to avoid death, pretty intense for the first scene of the game as if you not given instruction how to disarm the trap. After you managed to pull out the stuff outta your head, you need escape the room and get the hell outta there.

As you progress, you must save people around you too, fail once and you will soon die too, the game pretty intense since on your body Saw already planted a key for everyone escape on the Asylum, what ever happens, you must survive, and find the truth.

What this game look like?
The game is designed to be felled like the movie, you need to find the way out the asylum to survive, get to know some trap that maybe lies behind the door, make crucial decision, and make your way to the truth, in some point of the game you need to save other people, else you need to survive from other people that maybe kill you on your way to get the truth.

The game is played on 3rd person view, the view can sometimes buggy and really hard to point Tapp to move, and sometimes fell into the trap. When approaching a puzzle the camera changes to the puzzle view, allowing you to do the puzzle and survive. Sometimes in the asylum you will find a used trap with blood on the bottom, when you examine it you will get extra scene where you can see the people that suffer from the trap, pretty scary too, like you watching snap movies.

As you progress too, you will met your enemy, and to survive you must kill the enemy, as I said before the enemy is other people that want to survive. There’s many way to kill them, using your weapon, your hand, or maybe make them trapped to your trap. The unique stuff in this game, you can remake the trap that was Saw designed to kill you, to make other people killed too. Some other enemy do not want to be killed and just want to stay there without killing Tapp. When there’s a dead body, you can examine the body to get item inside them.

The game is pretty difficult, but you can retry as many times as you can, because the point on this game is to play this game until it’s all over. Since the game have auto save as you progress it will save automatically, so you don’t need to worry about save point.

What do you think about this game?
Although many people said this game can be Silent Hill Spiritual successor,  I still can said this game have it’s own taste, it’s more thrilling than Silent Hill, and more bloody than Silent Hill, although it’s less mysterious than Silent Hill, Saw have it’s own value, and I can get used to this series of game, plus the whole puzzle and story is created from Saw own producer itself, if you are Saw fans and Puzzle lovers(like me) Take this game and try it on the middle of night.

Tales of Innocence English Patch for Base Translation has Finished!

It seems like Absolute Zero Translation, the fan translation group that devoted them self to Tales series has done another great Job. After their Tales of Phantasia (SFC/PS/PSP/GBA) for PS1, now they finally finished the whole base trans (that Include the story too) for Tales of Innocence.

To those who curious about how many scripts they worked, they said about 500 Skits, and *I don’t know more* :P, but that’s too many. Oh yeah, if you support them, don’t forget to donate to them at http://www.absolutezerotranslations.com/donations/

Because, the patch will come over your hands at the end of November(that means about 2-3 weeks from now), because they need to do final check with all the bug, and some beta testing with well known people (probably from GBATemp).
